Animals

I just wish you could see all the lovely animals that live here. It must be Spring! You can tell when you belong: when you can walk right through a herd and the sheep don't turn a hair and the dogs don't bite your legs off.

  1. Mr and Mrs Goat look a formidable couple. Moi would not want boundary problems with them.

While the rooster is setting itself up for raptor attack one cannot help but admire its sense of itself in the landscape.

He was a film star in a previous life one feels sure.

What breed is he? I feel he might do well in his class at the RAS Show.

See the goat with the white face? I know more or less how it feels.

I adore the glimpsing cerval/genet/Cape Hunting Puppy strayed north/thought-to-be-extinct-until-Mrs Sandra's-sighting Blue
Desert fox cub (or is it merely a blue Saluki puppy stray? Fabulous photo; perhaps you coudl sell it to National Geographic with a story of what you had to endure to capture the image). What is it for heavens sake Mrs Sandra? And did you capture it? I can see it being taken for walks in Primrose Park. And when you get sick of its desert ways you could sell it to Taronga. Is it a rare Dusty Jackal, perhaps?

I don' t know how you bear it, all the terrifying wildlife. Oh i'ts all too D Attenborough for me.

It's bad enough here: it's stopped raining after ten weeks for about a minute and all those dreadful birds are shrieking about the place. At least the rain hindereded those flying foxes. There is a movement to stop them being 'discouraged' from destroying the Royal Botanic al Gardens. Can you understand some people? I mean, honestly.

Do not go out without a stout stick and a fairly heavy calibre revolver. Lord knows what else lurks. The Bible speaks of lions, leopards and much else besides in that region (how far are you from Babylon?).

Oh Sandra, possums will be such a a relief.

    Many apologies for my slip.

Closer examination suggests he is not a rooster but a flamboyant and bold hen of whatever breed.

I still feel there is a placing for her at the RAS Show.

Perhaps you could pack some eggs around a thermos and FastPost them to someone here to raise and exhibit.

They will arrive Registered whatever you do, I know from personal experience.

Who knows, they may prove valuable to those in Remote Settlements though I am concerned about the extravagant lushness of the section of desert in which she has posed herself so outrageously.

I feel confident you will understand.

I don't want to appear obsessive but are those Short Eared Desert Wolves?

    Do be careful Sandra.

I have offered sound advice in post 1.

Who would have dreamt the desert was teaming with such dangerous life?

    I had no idea.
